Frequently asked questions¶
Is MarketBuddy MCP included in my plan?¶
Yes. Every MarketBuddy plan - including the 14-day free trial - includes MCP access at no extra cost.
Do I need a separate account or password?¶
No. You sign in with the same email and password you use for the MarketBuddy app. Your AI assistant connects through a standard sign-in flow; we never see or store your assistant's credentials.
Which AI assistants are supported?¶
We've documented step-by-step setup for ChatGPT, Claude Desktop / Claude.ai, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Cursor, and Claude Code on a single page - see Connect your AI assistant.
Any other app that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) standard with HTTP transport and OAuth should be able to connect using the same URL: https://mcp.marketbuddy.com.au/mcp. See the Other MCP-compatible clients section for the generic settings.
What data can my AI assistant see?¶
The same listings you can see in the MarketBuddy app, and only when you ask a question that requires them. The assistant can search listings, look up a single listing's details, and search around a location. It cannot:
- Change your account or billing.
- Send messages or contact agents.
- See other MarketBuddy customers' searches or saved data.
Will my prompts and results be used to train AI models?¶
What MarketBuddy returns is just commercial listing data - the same content visible in the MarketBuddy app. Whether your AI assistant retains or uses your prompts to train its own models is governed by its privacy policy, not MarketBuddy's. Check your assistant's settings if you want to opt out of training.
How fresh is the data?¶
MarketBuddy MCP returns the same listings you'd see in the app, refreshed throughout the day from our source portals. Listings come and go fast in commercial real estate - if a result looks stale, double-check it in the app.
Is there a usage limit?¶
There are no per-user query limits today. We monitor for abuse and reserve the right to throttle automated clients that affect service quality, but normal interactive use is unlimited.
Can I use MarketBuddy from my own scripts or workflows (n8n, Make, custom code)?¶
Yes. See Advanced: programmatic access for how to authenticate with a long-lived API token instead of the interactive sign-in flow.
How do I disconnect MarketBuddy from my AI assistant?¶
In your assistant's connector or MCP settings, find MarketBuddy and remove it. That immediately revokes the assistant's access. You can reconnect any time.
